Slayer of darkness.
Loooooong.
Longcat may seem like just a regular lengthy cat, but he is, in fact, looong. For proof, observe the longpic.
It is prophesized that Longcat and his archnemesis Tacgnol will battle for supremacy on Caturday. The outcome will change the face of the world, and indeed the very fabric of lolcatdom, forever.

Well, it has almost been a week since I arrived in Denver. I have managed to avoid getting altitude sickness by keeping hydrated and not running around like a loon. Go me.
It is hot here in Denver, and supposedly it's sunny roughly 300 days of the year. Ironically,it has rained/stormed heavily almost every day since I arrived. Coincidence? Yes, but I'm sure to be teased about it anyway.
Haven't been about much as I don't have a key to the place yet and I'm still trying to figure out where I am in relation to places. I have been to Tao's (Care's boyfriend and a lovely bloke) and met his dog, Baxter. I've also been to Red Rocks a natural amphitheater, and Tao drove us around one of the foothills. It was beautiful... Then it rained and we watched the lightning striking as we made our way back home.
We made a brief stop at one of the local supermarkets, and I got another surprise. It seams most supermarkets here are more into the look of the place than anywhere I've seen in England. Big artistic signs and displays showing where everything is. It was like some weird designer grocer than a place you buy your milk and eggs from. Very odd.
I suffered from homesickness Monday, so Tyler took me out that night and I got to see Transformers and Harry Potter. ^_^ It cheered me up, but I still miss everybody.

Please excuse all grammar and spelling mistakes, I'm suffering from jet lag.
Well I'm here in America. It's been less than 24 hours since I was able to take off my shoes, put down my carry on and fall asleep. It is hot here, but not deadly like Japan was, or as fickle as England can get. It is also flat, and watching cars pass by on the left side of me was more than slightly unsettling to my tired eyes at first. Actually I think it'll be like that for a bit longer before I'm am completely comfortable. Biggest and first thing to unsettle me was the kitchen. Everything looked alien. Their packaging is a bit different from what I'm used to. It took me a while to find the milk because I thought it was juice, and they use different colours in their labeling. Threw me for a bit and I can't wait to try and work my way through a groccery store.
Tyler took me to lunch today, and as we were driving about I was taking in the scenery... It looked to me like some of the houses were more brick shoe boxes than actual homes. Care's place is nice and quirky enough to be comfortable, but the squareness of Denver, from houses, to the street system, felt very surreal after England's winding roads and villages.
Over all I don't think it's really sunk in yet that I'm here. I'm so tired I keep thinking it's a very surreal dream. I'm sure I'll wake up soon enough.

Ok now that's out of the way...
I'm moving. I was going to be moving to Guildford to try and be closer to my friends there, but my plans have changed. Now I will be moving to America in June. Yes I'm off to the United States to see what it's like on the other side of the big pond. The idea is to work there for a year and if I hate it to come back here screaming. If however I'm happy there, I fully plan on luring my friends over. Who knows I might actually update here if I move... Maybe.

It’s Valentines Day and I’m exhausted from working last night and I’m back for another night work in… 13 hours. Can you feel my enthusiasm?
I’m amusedly waiting to see what this day brings, though my expectations are low. In fact if anything does happen I’d probably pass out from shock… Or this bloody headache I’m sporting. :p
The only reason my expectations are even slightly above nil, is a result of two nice gentlemen having shown an active interest in me recently. My interest is more along the line of ‘ok you’re interesting, but…’ ^_^; Ummm…
It’s not that I don’t like the fellows, but I’m afraid one would walk off with half my wardrobe (and it scares me he can fit into my clothes)… and well the other one lives in a tree. Literally. He’s protesting something and has moved into a tree along with a few other people. He’s that kind of guy. So much so he has a tree friendly Auga.
Is it just me or do other people find themselves being asked out by guys like this?
I like my guys quirky… But I also like a BIT of sanity there to balance it out. If this keeps up I’m going to declare myself a hermit (officially not just by nature) and leave my house only to see a few trusted friends.
On that note… http://kevan.org/johari?name=Aetherius Because I’m curious.

1:42 pm - Who you gonna call?
|
Ok a few weeks ago we had the 'Ghost Town' crew here in Devizes filming. Now we had gotten an email from them about a month ago asking to film our house as we are listed in the haunted houses of Devizes. However, other than the ghost of a cat, we've not encountered the reported ghost of a lady there. So between that and the fact that we weren't really interested in our unfinished house being on telly we said no. Though it would have been amusing.
So just to tease them my sister went by and brought up our spectral pussycat and told them no when they asked to film it. She's so evil. She found out when they were going to be doing the interview filming and was going to drag me down for it. Having worked the night before I was knackered, but was tempted enough to drag myself out of bed. Promptly I decided that when going to potentially be interviewed by that bloke from 'Most Haunted' I would have to be appropriately dress. On went the Ghostbusters sweater and shirt. ^_^ My family and I have a peculiar sense of humour.
In the end it was raining hard and the wind was howling through the streets, so we decided that heckling the 'Ghost Experts' wasn't worth being wet and cold for. Would have been fun though...
You know out of all the houses I've lived in I've liked the haunted ones the most... ^_^ Ghosts are nice to my family even when they play tricks on me :p I still haven't forgiven the ghost of the little boy at TM for those spiders in my bed.

12:21 pm - Yule
|
Well I missed the Yule festival due to work obligations *sigh.* Pity really, as I was looking forward to seeing some people. On the other hand, one of my friends texted me about his experiences during it, and I’m not all that heartbroken. Here’s what he had to say…
Hi Rain. I got to Avebury in time for the Christmas dinner in the Red Lion. It was crap; I was sat on the singles table, with every other table having fun. I then went back to the woods only to have someone talk at me for hours on how the fairies had stolen his girlfriend. I couldn’t take anymore, so I’m back in my woods starting hibernation for the winter. See you in spring. **** in a teepee.”
So I’m guessing I didn’t miss too much. Though it might have been fun discussing how we could submit cases of fairy kidnapping to Scotland Yard. Other than that I can at least say that for this festival I did not appear on the news making faces at the druids’ while they were being interviewed. Ah well… There’s always next Yule.

Well the new job's ok. Not as challenging as the other, but not bad. Looks like I might be buying a new computer in a few hours time... If it's in good condition. We’ll see... Would be nice to have a computer all to myself again ^_^.

You are The Empress
Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.
The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.
The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

We have a saying at work if one of the residents is readjusting to meds, or just acting odd, they are 'Off with the faries.' We have one resident who has recently been plagued by faries, and accourding to one member of staff occasionally an imp or two. Other than driving us nuts and doing odd things, it's been relatively ok. However it seems that a few nights ago the faries decided that the resident should go to Narnia... Durring our round we looked in to find the resident missing from bed. Surprised, we looked about and found the resident sat in the wardrobe with no clue as to why.
I love my job O.o
You are a Samurai. You are full of honour and value respect. You are not really the stereotypical hero, but you do fight for good. Just in your own way. For you, it is most certainly okay to kill an evil person, if it is for justice and peace. You also don't belive in mourning all the time and think that once you've hit a bad stage in life you just have to get up again. It's pointless to concentrate on emotional pain and better to just get on with everything. You also are a down to earth type of person and think before you act. Impulsive people may annoy you somewhat.

Your power is: Being a controller of an element Explanation: Wether it is earth, fire, air or water or even all of them, you can control that element. That means you can manipulate their pysichal form and with just thoughts and make an inferno for example. In good purposes it can be used to protect but in evil purposes it is used to hurt. As a person you are slightly 'odd'. People see you as different and probably has prejudices against you. They see you as 'weird' or the 'freak', and either that hurts really much or you chose to ignore it. You keep your hatred for people inside and probably daydream about killing them, which gives you satisfaction. Truth is you are not evil, only missunderstood and mistreated. Outcast Genius 52 % Nerd, 73% Geek, 65% Dork |
For The Record:
A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored better than half in all three, earning you the title of: Outcast Genius.
Outcast geniuses usually are bright enough to understand what society wants of them, and they just don't care! They are highly intelligent and passionate about the things they know are *truly* important in the world. Typically, this does not include sports, cars or make-up, but it can on occassion (and if it does then they know more than all of their friends combined in that subject).
Outcast geniuses can be very lonely, due to their being outcast from most normal groups and too smart for the room among many other types of dorks and geeks, but they can also be the types to eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast Genius.
Congratulations!

I love my family. Last night we all went to my aunt’s house to eat supper. My father stayed home to finish things off while the food was being cooked. So when supper was just about done my mother picks up the phone and calls... Only the line was busy. She tried again only to have the same results. As we had a seriously bad thunder storm just before we left, we began to wonder if there had been some damage to the line. Deciding that dad was smart enough to figure it out we ate and sat around chatting for a while. Then we got a phone call... Dad.
It seems Mum was calling my aunt's phone number and getting the busy signal as she was calling herself. ^_^ And it was not the first time she's done that. Well done mum! I sooooo want to grow up just like her. At least my kids will have something to talk about.
